"MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte raised the rhetoric over his bloody anti-crime war to a new level Friday, comparing it to Hitler and the Holocaust and saying he would be 'happy to slaughter' 3 million addicts. Duterte issued his latest threat against drug dealers and users early Friday on returning to his hometown in southern Davao city after visiting Vietnam, where he discussed his anti-drug campaign with Vietnamese leaders and ways for their governments to fight transnational crimes, including illegal drugs. Does he want to be sent to the international criminal court? Because he's working his way there, Robertson said. Duterte's campaign promise to end corruption and crime, especially illegal drugs, within six months of taking office on June 30 carried him to an overwhelming victory in May's presidential election. Since the vote, more than 3,000 suspected drug dealers and users have been killed and nearly 700,000 others have surrendered in his crackdown. Duterte lashed out..."

Who Says an Individual Can’t Change the World? An American Hero: A Video Tribute to John Tanton, Founder of the Modern Environmental and Immigration Reform Movements

Re-posted by Nicholas Stix

Ever heard of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)? It was founded by Dr. John Tanton. Ever heard of the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS)? Know who founded it? That’s right—John Tanton. NumbersUSA? Yup. John Tanton. US English? John Tanton. The Social Contract? John Tanton.

Just about every major organization of the modern immigration reform movement was founded by the same man, who, by the way, is still alive and in his eighties.

John Tanton is neither a politician, nor a plutocrat. He made some money as a gifted eye surgeon, but nothing on the order of the order of the movements he crested. He's a modern-day Johnny Appleseed.

Note that there are two movements calling themselves “immigration reform.” The better known one, because it is relentlessly promoted by the MSM, and has hundreds of millions of dollars behind it, is fake. It ripped off the phrase “immigration reform” from people like Dr. Tanton, and is a movement that seeks to make corruption and crime the norm, by eliminating America’s immigration laws, borders, and thus, America.

I wish I could say that I’d met Dr. Tanton. About seven years ago, he sent me a personal invitation to a conference he was producing, and I tried to go, but The Boss couldn’t get off work that weekend. The next year, I was able to attend, but the great man had taken ill, and could no longer attend his own conferences.

D. Tanton got into immigration reform when he drew the logical conclusion that the greatest threat to America’s environment came from unchecked population growth, and unchecked population growth by then came solely from immigration.

A video tribute to John H. Tanton, M.D. - retired ophthalmologist and eye surgeon and founder of the modern environmental movement. Dr. Tanton is publisher and former editor of The Social Contract.

As a strong conservationist and leading advocate for the environment, Dr. John Tanton founded the Petoskey, Michigan regional Audubon Society. He has been active in a number of environmental organizations, both locally and nationally. Dr. Tanton recognized that continued human population growth is a significant contributor to environmental problems and he therefore became involved with the Sierra Club Population Committee and became President and board member of Zero Population Growth.

As immigration became the driving force behind unending U.S. population growth, John Tanton founded FAIR - the Federation for American Immigration Reform. John Tanton is pro-immigrant and pro-legal immigration, but at reduced, sustainable numbers. He states:

"The stresses caused by population growth cannot be solved by international migration. They must be confronted by and within each individual nation. Fundamental to the concept of national rights and responsibilities is the duty of each nation to match its population with its political, social, and environmental resources, in both the short and the long term. No nation should exceed what the biologists call its 'carrying capacity.'"

Trump & the Press — A Death Struggle
September 19, 2016 at 9:51 p.m.
By Patrick J. Buchanan
Buchanan.org

Alerting the press that he would deal with the birther issue at the opening of his new hotel, the Donald, after treating them to an hour of tributes to himself from Medal of Honor recipients, delivered.

“Hillary Clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the birther controversy. I finished it. … President Barack Obama was born in the United States. Period.”

The press went orbital.

“Trump Gives Up a Lie But Refuses to Repent” howled the headline over the lead story in The New York Times.

Its editorial called Donald Trump a “reckless, cynical bully” spreading political poison in an “absurdist presidential campaign,” adding that Trump is the “ultimate mountebank” using a “Big Lie” that “made him the darling of the wing nuts and racists” and “nativist hallucinators.”

You get the drift.

While Trump’s depiction of the birther controversy was … inexact … there was truth in it. Obama’s campaign did charge the Clinton campaign with drawing press attention to that photo of Obama in traditional Somali garb. Apparently, Sid Blumenthal did push a McClatchy bureau chief to search for Obama’s birth records in Kenya.

Tim Kaine was wailing on Sunday about how “painful” Trump’s birtherism has been to African-Americans. And Democrats and the media are pledging not to let it go, but to exploit Trump’s attempt to “delegitimize” Obama’s presidency.

These are crocodile tears. Obama gave the game away Saturday night. At the Black Caucus’s annual gala, says The Washington Post, a “beaming” Obama “gleefully” had the attendees rolling in “laughter” over Trump’s concession. “With just 124 days to go,” mocked Obama, “we got that thing resolved.”

Many news organizations will go along with the game. For many appear to be all in on Clinton’s depiction of half of Trump’s supporters as a “basket of deplorables” who are “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic … haters.”

Yet one wonders. Do the major media understand that in their determination, bordering on desperation, to kill Trump, they are killing their credibility? And as they are losing credibility they are losing the country.

According to a new Gallup poll, distrust of the press has hit an all-time high. Half the nation’s Democrats still trust the media, but only one-in-three independents and one-in seven Republicans, 14 percent, believe the media are truthful, honest and fair.

When, early in his presidency, Obama jokingly referred to the White House Correspondents Association dinner as his political base, Americans now believe he was not exaggerating the case.

And the more the media vent their detestation of Trump, the more Trump’s supporters revel in their discomfort. “We love him most of all for the enemies he has made,” said backers of Grover Cleveland in 1884. Trump’s folks feel that way about the national press.

America’s media seem utterly lacking in introspection. Do they understand why so many people hate them so? Do they care? Are they so smugly self-righteous and self-regarding they cannot see?

Take the birther issue again. According to a January HuffPost/YouGov poll, an astonishing 53 percent of all Republicans, 30 percent of all independents, and even 10 percent of Democrats still believe Barack Obama was born outside the USA.

What does this say about the persuasiveness of the press?

Indeed, what does it say about the idea that universal suffrage is the best way to determine the leadership of a republic?

In 2016, America faces serious issues — a rising deficit and escalating debt, the explosion of entitlements, the resurgence of Russian power, Chinese military expansionism in the South and East China seas, North Korea’s development of nuclear missiles, and Afghanistan.

Now consider the issues that have transfixed the media this election season:
The birther issue, David Duke, the KKK, a Mexican-American judge, Black Lives Matter, white cops, the “Muslim ban,” the Battle Flag, the “alt-right,” the national anthem, Trump’s refusals to recant his blasphemies against the dogmas of political correctness, or to “apologize.”

What does the continual elevation of such issues, and the acrimony attendant to them, tell us?

America is bitterly and irreparably divided over race, ideology faith, history and culture, and Trump’s half of the nation rejects the modernist gospel that America’s diversity and multiculturalism are her greatest treasures.
To the contrary, Trump’s half wants secure borders, “extreme vetting” of immigrants, especially from the Mideast, and foreign and trade policies marked by an “Americanism” that seems to be an antonym for globalism.

They want America to be “great again,” and they believe she was once, and is not now.

No matter who wins in November, America is going to face a divide unseen in decades. If Donald Trump wins, he will confront a resident media more hateful than that which confronted Richard Nixon in 1968.

If Hillary Clinton wins, she will come to office distrusted and disbelieved by most of her countrymen, half of whom she has maligned either as “deplorables” or pitiful souls in need of empathy.

Not for half a century has the idea of “one nation under God, indivisible,” seemed so distant.

Trump and Blacks: The Choice

By Jeigheff

This might sound like baloney, but here goes.

When I heard Donald Trump speak several weeks ago at his rally in Austin, Texas, I knew I was going to experience some hoopla before I went. One buddy of mine told me that he'd read that Trump's speech that night had little of substance. I personally was surprised at how much Trump talked about black Americans that night, and what he would do for them. He spoke at some length about crime and unsafe neighborhoods, and how he would help decent black Americans live safer lives.

Today I found myself wondering if Trump's speech might have more than one meaning. If Trump is elected and if he comes down hard on crime, blacks will be given a choice. Decent, sane blacks will have nothing to fear from Trump. The, uh, other ones will find that the rules of the game will have changed, hopefully to their disadvantage.

N.S.: In Heather Mac Donald’s new book, The War on Cops, she spoke to numerous young blacks in crime-ravaged neighborhoods, before the police got handcuffed. They said they almost never got stopped and frisked, because the coppers know who the bad guys were.

This media talking point is apparently an extension of calling black riots "demonstrations."

Moslem “Refugees” as Snakes (Music Video)

By Grand Rapids Anonymous

This poem, by Al Wilson-written in 1968-is being read by Trump at his rallies. The comparison to Mideast "refugees" is brilliant.

On her way to work one morning,
Down the path alongside the lake,
A tender-hearted woman
Saw a poor, half-frozen snake,
His pretty colored skin had been
all frosted with the dew.

"Oh well," she cried,
"I'll take you in,
And I'll take care of you."

"Take me in, oh tender woman,
Take me in, for heaven's sake
Take me in oh tender woman,"
Sighed the snake.

She wrapped him up all cozy,
In a curvature of silk,
And then laid him by the fireside
with some honey and some milk

Now she hurried home from work,
That night as soon as she arrived,
She found that pretty snake
She'd taken in had been revived.

Now she clutched him to her bosom,
"You're so beautiful," she cried,
"But if I hadn't brought you in
By now you might have died,"

Now she stroked his pretty skin
and then she kissed and held him tight
But instead of saying thanks,
That snake gave her a vicious bite.

"I saved you," cried that woman,
"And you've bit me even, why?
You know your bite is poisonous
And now I'm going to die"

"Oh shut up, silly woman,"
Said the reptile with a grin,
"You knew damn well I was a snake
Before you took me in.

N.S. It’s even worse than that because, whereas the type of person depicted in the song will get herself killed, genocidal “humanitarians” want to get the rest of us killed.

(Heavy) Rioting and unrest erupted in Charlotte, North Carolina over the police shooting of father of seven Keith Lamont Scott, intensifying throughout the night, as fires were set, trucks looted, and officers wounded.

The outrage – which led to the injuries of at least a dozen officers, one by a rock – was fueled, in part, by a dramatic and expletive-laden video that Scott’s daughter, Lyric, streamed on Facebook Live immediately after the shooting, in which she claimed police shot her father because he was black.

Scott’s brother said on video that all white people are f–king devils, although the officer who shot and killed Scott was also African-American. Negroes never let facts stand in the way of starting a good riot.

Bill Clinton Plays the Orson Welles Role (“Harry Lime”) in Remake of The Third Man (Classic Video)

By Nicholas Stix

The postwar Vienna-set, Carol Reed/Graham Greene masterpiece, The Third Man (1949), stars Joseph Cotten as Holly Martins, but revolves around “Harry Lime,” the character played by Orson Welles.

Harry is a blackmarketeer whose accomplices steal essential medicine for deathly-ill children. Harry would then water down the medicine, and re-sell it on the black market to parents and doctors who had to buy it from Harry’s gang at outrageously marked-up prices, because the gang had stolen it all! But because the medicine was, unbeknownst to the parents and doctors, watered-down, the children would die horrible deaths.

The Nietzschean Harry had no conscience about what he was doing. To him, people were just so many ants. Bill Clinton is the new Harry Lime, but with a Marxist flavor.

OK, good catch, it did get a lot of publicity but I forgot about the Mulgeta Seraw murder. It does reduce the overwhelming percentage number of black on white murders... very slightly.

I will say about the white killers of Mulgeta and Bruce is that they were not good people, they were violent POS's who I hope, for everybody's safety, are locked up for the rest of their lives. I don't care if they are white.

However, the killings were not just killing somebody out of the blue, they didn't run up and just stab somebody, or set on fire a person of a different race. Both those murders occurred during a dispute of some kind in which it's unclear who exactly started it, though we all know what race is usually the instigators of racist violence. The blacks may well have been the instigators who just got the wrong end of their own racist violent behavior.

It's unfortunate but it seems to me that in US society, pretty much the only ones who will stand up to violent, racist, negro assholes are violent, racist, white assholes. But the only ones who get called on their racist attitudes are the white ones.

CNN Reporter Jim Acosta Loves Illegal Alien Killers, and Hates Their Victims, While Host Poppy Harlow is a Broken Glass Democrat, Who Will Aggressively, Tenaciously Lie on Behalf of Hillary Clinton

By Nicholas Stix

Earlier today, Acosta and other CNN operatives played the “mistake” game with Donald Trump, acting as if Trump had committed an outrage, by calling on Hilary Clinton to have her bodyguards disarmed, in order to conform to her anti-Second Amendment position, and lying about Clinton’s anti-Second Amendment stance.

Acosta mentioned Trump’s statement from the night before, and then said people were wondering if he was going to “clean up what he said last night,” which is Acosta’s way of editorializing against Trump. But Trump hadn’t said anything wrong, and then Acosta emphasized that Trump had re-affirmed what he’d said.

Either Acosta or Harlow reported that Clinton had charged that Trump was inciting violence against her, as if that were a perfectly reasonable statement, and not the blood libel it was.

Poppy Harlow was particularly aggressive for Team Hillary today. She had a panel of three people, only one of whom supported Trump, but with Harlow being a rabid Clintonite, it was actually 3-1 for Hillary, like on Don Lemon’s show.

When the lone pro-Trump panel member, a 40-something, blonde, white woman, pointed out that Trump was throwing Clinton’s Second Amendment hypocrisy in her face, Harlow lied like a Persian rug for her candidate, playing the “literal” game, asserting that Clinton had not said she wanted to eliminate the Second Amendment. Duh! Neither had “Obama”!

The Trump supporter pointed out that Clinton had said that she would appoint Supreme Court justices who would overturn the pro-Second Amendment decision Heller, which meant she would gut the Second Amendment. Harlow would not relent, in lying about Clinton, and the Trump supporter eventually wimped out, saying, “That’s my personal opinion,” as if it were some irrational, idiosyncratic belief.

Back to Jim Acosta. He spoke of a meeting Trump had had with some shadowy, mysterious group that Acosta refused to name. Group X, said Acosta, “were wearing t-shirts with photos of their loved ones who, they say, were killed by undocumented immigrants.”

“They say.” So, not only would Acosta not name this wonderful organization, but he insinuated that its members were lying, and defaming respectable, foreign cut-throats.

The Stolen Lives Quilt is one of the big undertakings of The Remembrance Project, which exists to ensure that the public learns about the victims of foreign killers that Jim Acosta and his comrades want the public to remain ignorant, and in the shadows about

By the way, that all of the murder victims in the photographs on their family members’ shirts were murdered by illegal aliens is a matter of public record. This is not a matter of opinion. But what Acosta did was a matter of despicable opinion.

It was immediately clear to me that Acosta was talking about The Remembrance Project, a group of fine people, led by Maria Espinoza, whom I have met a few times in the Washington, D.C. area, where I have heard the grieving members speak, and met some of them, as well.

Madame Michelle Obama, the Most Despicable, Racist, First Lady in American History, Responds to Revelation that Hillary Clinton, Not Trump, Started Birther Movement, with a Hateful, Incoherent Speech

By Nicholas Stix

A first lady is supposed to be like Caesar’s wife—above suspicion, but Madame Michelle is a vicious, racist crook. She gave a speech at the Democratic Convention which dripped with spite against Donald Trump, yet in which she sought to portray herself as morally superior to him.

It’s a black thing.

Seven years ago, she gave a speech before the International Olympic Committee, on behalf of winning the summer 2016 Olympics for her hometown of Chicago that was a study in narcissism. She argued that the IOC should award the Olympics to Chicago, because her late father had been a sports fan, and it would be a nice gesture.

She also made the incredible claim to have been the best athlete in her neighborhood, when she wasn’t even the best athlete in her home. Her big brother, Craig, who went to Princeton on a basketball scholarship was not only a much better athlete than Michelle, but also much smarter than her.

After a lifetime of American whites truckling to her racial privilege, Madame Michelle had no awareness that foreign whites might not feel the need to pander to her.

Tonight, she responded to the revelation hours earlier that it was Hillary Clinton, not Donald Trump, who had started the Birther movement, by giving a speech in which she lied more and louder, and yet again ignored reality.

"‘Then, of course, there were those who questioned, and who continue to question for the past eight years, and up to this very day, whether my husband was even born in this country,’ Obama said, alluding to Trump's questions. ‘Well, during his time in office, I think Barack has answered those questions with the examples he set, by going high when they go low. And he's answered these questions with the progress we've achieved together.’"

Even if her husband had set a positive example, what would that have to do with the question of where he was born? But in fact, Barack Obama, never took the high road. Even during his 2008 campaign, he race-baited. While John McCain fought with both hands tied behind his back, Obama first used proxies to race-bait McCain, and then did it himself, lying about McCain.

“Oh, and did I mention, he’s black?”

And then it was on to two terms of non-stop race war, inciting blacks to murder white, Hispanic, and Chinese policemen, and whites in general.

While I was never a birther, I argued on January 20, 2009 that the presidency of the John Doe calling himself “Barack Obama” was illegal, and that he should be in prison. I see no reason to change that judgment.

Breaking News: Hillary Clinton’s 2008 Presidential Campaign is Exposed as Having Started the “Birther” Movement! Yet Another Clinton/DNC/MSM Hoax Smearing Trump Collapses!

Re-posted by Nicholas Stix

Earlier today, I saw CNN operatives denounce Trump’s claim that Hillary started the “Birther” movement, including invoking fake “non-partisan” fact-checking operations (Politifact, etc.), and Hillary supporter Lynn Sweet, of the Chicago Sun-Times, on Fox News repeatedly ranting and raving that the Birthers” were “racist”! (By the way, Lynn Sweet is listed as having been born in 1961, but she looked like a 70-year-old lady who had once been cute.)

The Fox News hosts were two people I’m unfamiliar with. There was a young white guy, and an attractive, young white female who resembled the young Katie Couric, but who looked to be taller. Although the hosts did not opine, they stacked each segment with Trump-haters, left and right. The alleged Republicans (e.g., Rina Shah, Brian Joyce) sounded the same as the Hillary supporters (Shira Center, Lynn Sweet).

As for Rachel Stoltzfoos, assuming this is her scoop, this is tremendous reporting. My only criticism is that she uses “refute,” when she should be using “deny.”

“The Clinton campaign and the media have consistently refuted [sic] Trump’s claim Clinton started the birther movement, which Trump re-upped Friday when he said for the first [sic] publicly that he believes Obama was born in the United States.”

There are also some very informative readers’ comments at The Daily Caller.

Don’t hold your breath, waiting for Lynn Sweet to call Hillary Clinton a “racist,” or for Sweet and Clinton’s other henchmen, including nominal Republicans, to apologize to Donald Trump.

Former DC Bureau Chief: Clinton Surrogate Pitched Me ‘Birther’ Story In 2008
By Rachel Stoltzfoos
2:00 P.M. 09/16/2016
The Daily Caller

Hillary Clinton surrogate Sid Blumenthal personally pitched a reporter on the President Obama “birther” story when she was campaigning for president in 2008, a former Washington reporter said Thursday.

The Clinton campaign and the media have consistently refuted [sic] Trump’s claim Clinton started the birther movement, which Trump re-upped Friday when he said for the first [sic] publicly that he believes Obama was born in the United States. “Hillary Clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the birther controversy,” Trump said, drawing a slew of media fact checks almost immediately. “I finished it.”

But former McClatchy Washington Bureau Chief James Asher has backed up Trump’s version of events, saying he was personally pitched the story by a Clinton surrogate in 2008.

Clinton had tweeted: “President Obama’s successor cannot and will not be the man who led the racist birther movement. Period.”

And McClatchy replied: “@HillaryClinton So why did your man #sidblumenthal spread the #obama birther rumor to me in 2008, asking us to investigate? Remember?”

Blumenthal is a former aide to Clinton’s husband Bill Clinton and their long-time friend.
“#CNN says #Hillary team in 2008 never raised the #birther issue,” he said in another tweet Thursday night. “#SidBlumenthal, long-time #HRC buddy, told me in person #Obama born in #kenya.”

Nevertheless, as soon as Trump reiterated his criticism Clinton started the birther movement, the media started churning out fact checks.

“I covered it at the time,” CNN’s Jake Tapper said Friday, referring to the movement. “She and her campaign never, never started the birther issue.”

“Trump Drops False ‘Birther’ Theory, but Floats a New One: Clinton Started It,” blared a New York Times headline. And The Washington Post fact checker quickly spun up a piece declaring the claim “debunked.”

At one point the MSNBC chyron read: “Trump (falsely) claims Clinton started birther controversy.”

Did Clinton Henchman “Sid Vicious” Blumenthal Start the “Birther” Rumor?

The Nine Pillars of Journolist 2016: CNN Continues to Peddle “Conspiracy Theory,” Leaving No Doubt that It Fanatically Supports Hillary Clinton’s Campaign

By Nicholas Stix

A little after 1 p.m. today, on Wolf Blitzer’s show, first Dana Bash and then Gloria Borger asserted that Donald Trump supported a “conspiracy theory.” (Bash had previously tried to look professional, but now, with her candidate desperate, she has taken off the gloves.)

They were talking about Birtherism, but leftwing CNN activists—if you’ll pardon the redundancy—have been repeating the phrase, “conspiracy theory,” regarding Trump as a framing device for weeks, regardless of context. They are trying, via constant repetition, to put the idea in voters’ heads that Trump is insane.

Brian Stelter and Kate Bolduan were the first CNN activists that I heard do it mockingly, two or three weeks ago, in response to questions that were raised about Hillary Clinton’s health. They desperately sought to mock the issue out of existence.

Stelter also rolled his eyes, and called Breitbart News “so far to the right that it practically falls off the map.” I’ve never heard anyone at CNN say that any person, organization, or media outlet, is “so far to the right that it practically falls off the map.”

Then alleged journalist Gloria Borger asserted (today), regarding Trump’s disavowal of the “Birtherism” he once supported, “You can’t erase history with one sentence.”

CNN then showed a clip of Hillary Clinton saying, “You can’t erase history.”

Neither I nor anyone else in my house heard Borger say she was merely quoting Hillary Clinton, as opposed to stating her own opinion.

Bash and Borger were saying today that Trump can’t simply put the Birther matter to rest. Why not?

On July 29, when the Clinton Campaign, the DNC, and the racial socialist MSM pulled the Khan-Con, with Pakistani Khizr Khan, whom Theodore and Walid Shoebat exposed as a jihadist and Muslim Brotherhood agent (the terrorist group that birthed al Qaeda), sharia-supporting, immigration scam lawyer baiting Trump from the floor of the Democratic Convention, and all over the media thereafter, and Trump defended himself, the MSM, Clinton spokesmen, and never-Trumpers all denied that Trump had any right to defend himself. Reconquista, Affirmative Action Republican Ana Navarro hysterically screamed to an absent Donald Trump on CNN, “Just shut up!”

The Khan-Con: The July 29 DNC Speech

Oh, yeah. That’s the way to get elected president. Don’t campaign, or speak on your own behalf, and follow the “advice” of those who seek to destroy you.

Trump was right to criticize Khan, including pointing out that Mrs. Kahn stood mum at the podium, while her husband vilified Trump at the DNC, because that was her role in Islam. But no one would publicly support him. (After Trump said that, Mrs. Khan vilified him, but she was again just following her husband’s orders, under sharia.) His campaign advisors, including his kids, let themselves be conned by relentless concern-trolling assertions by his enemies, that if he would just drop the Khan-Con, and “apologize” (for what?), all would be forgiven.

Khizr Khan is exactly the sort of person who should never have been permitted to enter the United States, and who should be deported, along with his wife. Why his son honorably served in our armed forces, and died in action, I do not know, but I suspect that he did so without the blessing of the same parents who have ruthlessly exploited his (not their!) sacrifice.

Meanwhile, Trump’s poll numbers dropped, but were those real numbers, or push-poll numbers? And if the numbers were real, were people souring on Trump, due to the relentless Journolist campaign, asserting that he had made “mistake” after mistake, a campaign which could have easily been knocked out, if the Republicans who had sworn an oath to support him, had honored their word, and counter-punched on his behalf?

So, he apologized, and his enemies, who had demanded that he drop the matter, themselves instead on bringing up the Khan-Con for weeks.

The notion that “Gold Star Families” are above reproach is garbage.

The Khans are political opportunists who support terrorism (if you support sharia, you support terrorism), and who took cheap shots at Trump. They entered the political arena as operatives, and must play by the rules of the game. But they cheated, and gladly made themselves of use to Trump’s enemies.

Heck, I’d never before heard the terms “Gold Star Fathers” or “Gold Star Families.” There was only “Gold Star Mothers,” as I heard my Nana (1893-1976) say about mothers who had lost their sons in The War. And being a “Gold Star Mother” was like being Caesar’s wife. You had to be above suspicion; not a political hack.

Apologizing to your enemies never works.

The notion that Republicans are paranoid conspiracy theorists goes back to the time of Senator Joseph McCarthy (R-WI). “Tailgunner Joe” spoke of “a conspiracy so immense.”

Communists and anti-anti-Communists mocked McCarthy, while Republicans either sat on their hands, or openly supported the enemy. They combined to make McCarthy the invisible man of the U.S. Senate.

As Stanton Evans, Ann Coulter, and Diana West would prove, using the Venona Transcripts long after McCarthy’s death in 1957, the conspiracy was even more immense than he’d imagined.
Mocking Republican anti-Communists as “crazy conspiracy theorists” has been a tactic of the Left, which really does habitually conspire against its enemies, for well over 50 years.

The Hillary Clinton campaign (which includes the MSM), and the Never-Trumpers have fanatically repeated the tactics of Journolist 2016.

The Nine Pillars (so Far) of Journolist 2016

• Trump is Hitler;
• Trump’s supporters are violent Nazis (black supremacist and militant homosexualist CNN activist, Don Lemon, has obsessively shown anti-Trump propaganda videos, while refusing to show the violent attacks by Hillary Clinton supporters on non-violent Trump supporters);
• Trump must be bullied into disavowing his supporters, again and again, until they desert him;
• Trump must surrender the positions that made him successful (the so-called “pivot”), so that his base will desert him, and Hillary Clinton can win a landslide victory;
• Any position Trump takes in reaching out to blacks, Hispanics and women, must be denounced, as if he had called them racial or sexual epithets;
• Everything Trump says must be “fact-checked,” and asserted to be false, by Democrat media operatives (who give Clinton a free ride);
• Everything Trump does must be tarred as a “mistake”;
• Everything Trump and his supporters say must be mocked as the stuff of a “conspiracy theory”; and
• Hillary Clinton must be protected, at all costs, with lies, lies, and more lies, of omission and commission.

There will surely be more Journolist 2016 dirty tricks to come.

Oregon: A White Couple Fatally Runs Over a Black Man, so It Must be a “Hate Crime,” Right? Trust the MSM to Make It One, While Ignoring Countless Black-on-White Hate Crime Murders!

By Jerry PDX

There was a "hate crime" in Oregon, my home state and close to where I live. A black man was run over by a white couple after a fight in the Gresham suburb. He died a few days later. It apparently started with some kind of altercation outside a store and the black man pulled a knife. It's unclear what exactly happened or who started it but the media has already condemned the white guy as a racist. Supposedly he has white supremacist ties, or did sometime in his past. Judging from the details I've read of the white guys past he's truly a piece of work and I don't have a lot of sympathy for him but this case, like all of these cases illustrates the extreme hypocrisy about hate crime in this country.

Interesting that none of the reports claim that the white male made any racist comments, though who knows what might come out. I'm doubtful he did, though. It's the first thing the media jump on. I wouldn't be surprised if witnesses appear out of the woodwork, claiming they heard "something" that sounded like the N-word. Probably doesn't matter, though. It appears that his past connections as a "white supremacist" have him condemned already.

This got me thinking about the last time a black person was murdered by a white one in my city. I do remember a murder in the mid-80's, in which a black man was stabbed to death by a white guy, after he told a friend he wanted to get the blood of a black man on his knife. He was convicted of murder and a bias crime, and I have no argument with that. It's just that I can't think of one other white-on-black murder we've had here, other than that one, and this one that just happened. Maybe there's something I missed, but I doubt it. Those kinds of murders get plenty of coverage, so it's just about impossible not to know they didn't happen.

Then I thought about black-on-white murders, and I could immediately come up with plenty of them. Recently, a white man was beaten to death by a gang of blacks in the downtown area. There was no mention of any possible race bias, nobody went back into their past, to see if they ever made any racist comments, or practiced violence against whites regularly.

Then there was a recent shooting of a white bouncer in a nightclub by a black man.

We had a young black man murder his elderly white grandmother a while back.

There was a mass transit shooting, in which a black man killed a white man...

A white bicyclist was beaten to death by blacks, five or six years ago.

A white girl was murdered by her black boyfriend recently. actually there have been a couple more of those also but they go back a ways.

These all occurred in the past decade or so. There have been other previous ones but I can't clearly remember details, I could probably find out with some research but it's safe so say we've had a fair number of white on black murders over the years. I'm going to guess it happens about once a year or so. I'll say a little less than that just to be conservative, I wouldn't want some self righteous liberal to arrogantly tell me I'm wrong because there aren't quite "one a year".

So over the course of 30 years we've had, I'd estimate, 20-25 black on white murders and 2 white on black murders. This in a region that is only 7% black. For anyone mathematically challenged out there (i.e. anyone black), that is an astronomically higher level of black on white murder than vice versa.

So despite this reality we're going to treated with sanctimonious white liberals and black racists screaming about racism in Portland and how black men are being killed every time they step into the street by all these uber violent white supremacists. Nobody's ever going to pull out the actual statistics about interracial murder and put this incident into perspective.

Lester Holt’s Predictable News Priorities, on NBC Nightly News

By Grand Rapids Anonymous

I could post something under this category every damned day for Lesta Holt's "Negro Nightly News."

I'll skip politics today, since Andrea Mitchell told us "healed" Hillary sounds great, and feels great. (Sounds like Billy Crystal as Fernando Lamas... [chuckle].)

Good to know, since Mitchell has assured us all year of Clinton's being the picture of health.

Off to what Jerry PDX would get teed off about... a big Negro News report on a 40-year-old white man, Shawn Grate—who had kidnapped a woman—and thanks to her 911 call, was found and arrested in an abandoned Ohio home. Police found two bodies in the house, as well.

Question: If he was black, would Lesta have reported it? No doubt about the story being dramatic, but the question still remains—especially since I've seen very few black crime stories reported on his watch.

Also no doubt, that this next one would be reported by Lesta—and it was—as he told us about a Columbus, Ohio, 13-year-old black, who pulled a bb gun/lookalike police gun, on a cop and was shot dead. Dismay from Lesta on this accidental shooting, but this kind of story never gets by our racist anchorman. As predictable as ever.

Lesta must walk into the newsroom and say, "What do we have today for white cops shooting blacks, or white guys committing horrible crimes?" Today, that must have made his day.

Mass Murder Freebies in Illinois

Black moron wants a hooker to perform a sex act on him for $10. Hooker takes the money and splits. The moron in a rage sets a fire that kills four, including three children. This used to be a crime in Illinois that warranted the death penalty. Especially when small children murdered. No death penalty in Illinois now. That is the problem when you do away with the death penalty. Kill one you get life, kill a bunch and you get life. No difference. Small children killed, no worse either.

It Wouldn’t be a Presidential Election, Without Black Welfare Recipient Colin Powell Stabbing His Republican Benefactors in the Back! Hillary Clinton Lied About Him, but the Racist Powell Supports Her, as He Always Supports the Democrat!

By Nicholas Stix

Powell was a washed-out, one-star, incompetent Affirmative Action general, until Pres. Ronald Reagan rescued him, and Reagan and presidents George H.W. Bush and Bush II made him chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, National Security Advisor and Secretary of State. The GOP was even eager to make Powell the nation’s first black president, but he chickened out, on the orders of his wife, Alma, and showed his gratitude by excoriating the 1996 national GOP convention in a racist speech.

When Powell served under King George II, he betrayed Bush by leaking like a sieve to Democrat Washington Post operative Bob Woodward, who had been one of the criminal conspirators who toppled the Nixon presidency.

Powell owes everything to the GOP, but black “Republicans” are about as reliable as Hispanic “Republicans.”

The Simplest, Most Elegant Refutation of “White Privilege” Sophistry in Particular, and Multiculturalism, in Toto

Excerpted by Nicholas Stix

Retired physicist Paul Nachman wrote this as a letter to the editor of the Duluth News-Tribune in 2012. It was never published.

“White Privilege”: One of The Stupidest Ideas of Our Time
By Paul Nachman
July 8, 2016
VDARE

There’s a contradiction at the core of the Un-Fair campaign’s condemnation of “white privilege” in Duluth: The city was settled and built by a population that, over the generations, was overwhelmingly white. So naturally, it suits them—they built it for themselves.

Is such a white society less suitable for people of other races? It may well be. After all, for decades white communities have been hectored to welcome “diversity” and reap all its benefits. But if racial diversity is to yield benefits, people of different races must be, on average, systematically different. And those systematic differences must be in temperament, intelligence, and/or physical capabilities, not just in the trivial category of skin color. Else how could diversity make a difference, either beneficial or detrimental?

Further, such systematic differences would likely imply that non-whites don’t fit in perfectly to a society established by whites. So if those familiar claims about diversity are well founded, then complaining that white people unconsciously enjoy “unearned privilege” simply amounts to excoriating whites for being themselves and living their lives. (Similarly, the Japanese living in Japan could be condemned for possessing “unearned yellow privilege.”)

Thus there’s another contradiction here: Why would non-whites, presumably aiming to improve their circumstances by moving to a community created by whites, then complain about their new environs? Instead, they should rejuvenate a seemingly-forgotten tradition from America’s not-so-distant past: Assimilate!

N.S.: Nachman writes,
Editorial-page editor Chuck Frederick [cfrederick@duluthnews.com] promptly replied, and part of his explanation was that “After closer analysis, we were concerned by several statements in the letter that could potentially be perceived as offensive.”

Nachman believes that Frederick was being a wimp. I used to think that, but no longer do. My take is that people who talk like Frederick are actually rabid but duplicitous multiculturalists, who use the claim that someone might be “offended” as a dodge, to hide their own biases behind feigned concern for (certain) others. However, they have no fear of offending normal, patriotic whites. So, they are cowards, but a different kind of coward.

Baseball Logic is Circular, but There’s a Method to Its Madness

By Nicholas Stix

“‘Just throwing strikes makes it easy to get more comfortable out there and relax, and make quality pitches,’ [winning rookie Mets starter Seth] Lugo said. ‘It's been a lot easier since I've relaxed out there.’”

Since every strike is, by definition, a quality pitch, what Lugo said was, throwing quality pitches makes it easier to throw quality pitches. And relaxing makes it easier to relax.

I’m not looking to beat up on a rookie, especially one who has done such a great job, in helping to save the Mets’ chances at playing in October, thus forestalling their fans’ annual heartbreak, which bleeds into the season of whatever it is men play in the fall. Derek Jeter was the master at Seinfeldian postgame quotes for the MSM. “Nothing, nothing, nothing…” Jeter could give an extended interview, without saying anything, which was clearly his intent.

Sometimes I suspect that players coach each other on how to say a whole lot of nothing to interviewers, under the true assumption that anything interesting (and/or non-pc) you say to the media can and will be held against you in the court of managed public opinion. “Have fun” is one of the most popular player clichés in recent years. Even Jeter used it, so it’s got to be solid gold: “I’m just going out there and trying to have fun.”

These guys get paid tens of millions of dollars per year, and say they’re trying to have “fun”? They spend so much time working out that their bodies are suffering all sort of injuries (e.g., strained lats) that you never heard of when I was a kid, because they’re “trying to have fun”?!

Ballplayers are no rocket scientists, but neither are sportswriters, and the players, for all their limitations in pure math and theoretical physics, have the writers figured out.

New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey has managed to snatch martyrdom from the jaws of damnation. He would have the public believe that he didn't resign his governorship on August 12 because of the scandals that sprouted from his administration like crabgrass, but because he was the victim of a homophobic society.

Since August 12, media has bent over backwards, in painting sympathetic portraits of McGreevey, who in spite of having resigned, refuses to leave office. McGreevey is the embodiment of a new reality, in which homosexuality is the last refuge of scoundrels.

Jim McGreevey

McGreevey, who campaigned that he would "change the way things are done in Trenton," has proved to be as corrupt a chief executive as any in the history of a state that my colleague from New Jersey, Alan Caruba, has argued is the most crooked in the country. Caruba wrote in the Philadelphia Inquirer, "If anyone thinks his state is the worst run since pre-Schwarzenegger California, I invite him to measure it against New Jersey." The Wall Street Journal's John Fund, quoting Caruba's line that "something is terribly wrong with voters who have demonstrated a virtual death wish so far as any sensible governance of the state is concerned," dubbed the state, "Louisiana North." Fund could argue, without exaggerating, "Indeed, Mr. McGreevey accomplished the remarkable feat of lowering ethical standards in the state capital."

In McGreevey's resignation speech, he said, ''My truth is that I am a gay American. Shamefully, I engaged in adult consensual affairs with another man, which violates my bonds of matrimony. It was wrong, it was foolish, it was inexcusable.''

That would suggest that the following matters, for which McGreevey did not apologize, were neither foolish nor inexcusable (a scorecard follows):

Charles Kushner

Charles Kushner, McGreevey's biggest campaign contributor, "pleaded guilty [three weeks ago] to 18 federal crimes, including an admission that he hired a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law, and then mailed a videotape of the encounter to his own sister in a ploy to stymie their involvement in a federal probe of his political contributions." One New Jersey attorney opined, "You can't make this stuff up." He was talking about the Kushner affair alone.

William Watley

On July 14, McGreevey's commerce secretary, William Watley, resigned "amid reports that he channeled state money to his own businesses and to family members."

David D'Amiano

On July 6, fundraiser David D'Amiano "was indicted … on [11] extortion charges for allegedly demanding and accepting $40,000 in political contributions and cash from a Piscataway farm owner [Mark Halper] to influence state and county officials to more than double an offer," from $3 million to $7.4 million, to buy the farmland's development rights. According to the indictment, before one of Halper's many meetings with the Governor, he was taped telling D'Amiano that Gov. McGreevey was to use the code word"Machiavellian," to signal that the deal was on. Sure enough, McGreevey (aka "State Official 1") said "Machiavelli," which he later insisted was merely an allusion from his rich literary life. If convicted, D'Amiano could be sentenced to up to 205 years in prison, and fined $2.75 million.

The Attorney General's Office

The attorney general's office has been run by handpicked McGreevey men, who have conducted themselves more like Mafia consigliere than the leaders of state law enforcement. McGreevey's first AG, David Samson, literally walked away from corruption charges that the State Police's background investigation of McGreevey nominee for State Police superintendent, Joseph Santiago, turned up. Rather than aggressively investigate the charges, Samson's number two man and successor, Peter Harvey, covered them up. Harvey has also refused to investigate serious charges against other McGreevey appointees, is suspected of having sandbagged federal corruption investigations, has trampled on the state constitution, and though he has been surrounded by corruption, to my knowledge has never cracked a single corruption case. Such aggressive dereliction of duty may or may not be indictable as obstruction of justice -- that's for the feds to determine -- but it's still corruption. Harvey's deputy, Vaughn McKoy, has come up with his own creative ruses to avoid doing his job.

Peter Harvey

According to the Gannett newspaper chain's Trenton Bureau chief, Bob Ingle, AG Peter Harvey "couldn't find political corruption with a detailed road map." Ingle's March 15 column was entitled, "McGreevey administration heading for scandal record." And that was several indictments and resignations ago. Ingle wrote, "As our Sandy McClure first reported, the feds said some state officials did not cooperate with requests for information when subpoenas were served. ‘Some people have not been willing to speak to authorities based on advice of counsel,' a source told McClure. It was not clear who the counsel was. Federal authorities indicated they would not be amused if it were Attorney General Peter ‘See No Evil' Harvey or an aide. Wouldn't it be a conflict of interest if the state's attorney general, who is entrusted with upholding the law, put the McGreevey administration's interest above his sworn obligation? Could that be impeachment territory for Harvey?"

And as Robert Schwaneberg wrote in Capital Report, that back in March, 2003, when state Sen. Robert Martin (R-Morris) cast the lone vote against Harvey's nomination on the state judiciary committee, Harvey retaliated by having Martin subpoenaed. "…Harvey sent investigators to Martin's home with a subpoena. They demanded to know his sources for questioning Harvey's ability to investigate claims that the Governor's Office was interfering in parole decisions. Lawmakers have a constitutional privilege against such interrogation."

Joseph Santiago

In a failed experiment in affirmative action, in 2002, McGreevey appointed Hispanic Newark police Director Joseph Santiago superintendent of the State Police. In hiring Santiago, McGreevey ignored the protests of law enforcement officials, and a multitude of red flags (a personal bankruptcy, a conviction for disorderly conduct, and charges reported by the State Police background investigators that in Newark, Santiago had consorted with an associate of the Genovese crime family, protected illegal gambling operations, was involved in a "no-show security scheme" and used police officers to build his house) in Santiago's past, only to force Santiago to resign on October 18, 2002, after only seven months on the job.

The state has been under federal pressure since the late 1990s, due to racial profiling hoaxes engineered by groups including, prominently, the Rev. Reginald Jackson's Black Ministers Council of New Jersey and their media allies, and due to the undiplomatic but true remarks regarding minorities and crime made by white State Police Supt. Carl Williams in 1999, whereupon liberal GOP Gov. Christie Whitman fired Williams. It was politically expedient for McGreevey to hire a minority superintendent, any minority superintendent. Note, however, that Santiago was not forced out due to the red flags, most of which were reportedly covered up by McGreevey's cronies -- most notably AG David Samson and Peter Harvey, first when Harvey was first assistant AG, and then after he had succeeded Samson as acting AG -- but on a fluke. On September 19, 2002, Supt. Santiago wrote a memo "confiscating originals and all copies" of the State Police background investigation of him and his top aides, a demand which, according to Edward M. Neafsey, director of the state Office of Government Integrity, violated federal and state laws, as well as "the [state] Department of Law and Public Safety's Code of Ethics and the Rules and Regulations of the New Jersey State Police."

Only after Santiago's ouster, did most of the charges against him come to light. Retired State Police Maj. Frank Simonetta, who had been commanding officer of the state police investigations section charged, in an interview with Gannett reporter Sandy McClure published on April 12, 2003, that beginning in January, 2002, he had tried to hand the State Police reports to AG David Samson and Peter Harvey. "When I told them what I had, they didn't want to see the reports. The attorney general turned to Harvey and said, ‘Pete, you handle it.' And he (Samson) walked out of the room. And Mr. Harvey — it was like I had a hot brick in my hands — did not want to see it, would not even look at it."

Gannett's Sandy McClure reported that each of the three state investigators, troopers David Kushnir, Thomas Primo, and Dennis Vecchiarelli (all of whom had worked under Maj. Simonetta), who reported the allegations from confidential informants, "separately alleged that Harvey wanted one of the investigators to delete a written suggestion that their report be shared with the Senate Judiciary Committee." And indeed, Harvey kept the reports from ever being passed on to the committee. Echoing by then Acting AG Harvey, Edward M. Neafsey later called the charges against Santiago "unsubstantiated"; Gov. McGreevey called them "baseless."

But consider the context. Harvey's deputy, Deputy Director of Criminal Justice Vaughn McKoy, had told the investigators that the AG would not proceed unless the informants revealed their identities to the AG's office, signed affidavits, and permitted themselves to be polygraphed, "unprecedented" requirements, according to State Police sources. Note, too, that the charges had reportedly also been independently corroborated. Hence, the terms "unsubstantiated" and "baseless" are nonsense on stilts. All charges are unsubstantiated and baseless, if authorities refuse to investigate them. The informants all refused to accept the AG's terms (terms which Gov. McGreevey supported), with one reportedly saying he feared for his life. Consider as well, that Santiago had worked for the AG's office. Thus, Santiago would not only have had (illegal) access to any State Police reports that had been written in compliance with the AG's demand to reveal the informants' names, but he also had connections in the AG's office.

Critics have charged that the Office of Government Integrity is a dumping ground for McGreevey lackeys, though it is hard to see how that would distinguish it from any other state agency.

Neither journalism nor law enforcement can function without the use of confidential sources. To have to identify all one's sources would result in most of them drying up, since sources that are exposed tend to get fired from their jobs, blacklisted from their professions, and/or turn up dead. Director Santiago was not supposed to know the names of the three troopers investigating him, yet in a lawsuit the troopers filed, they asserted that not only did Santiago know their identities, but that he had retaliated against them. According to Capital Report's Jeff Whelan and Josh Margolin, Santiago charged "that his downfall was engineered by rogue troopers who fiercely resisted changes he brought to the organization."

But how could "rogue troopers" have been resisting "changes" Santiago made to the State Police, when the investigators had reported the charges made and corroborated against Santiago two months before he was given the job?

Towards the end of Santiago's brief tenure, with the state broke, he spent over $133,000 on renovations for his office, $106,000 of which went for luxurious furniture that Santiago had his subordinates order in lots of less than $20,000 at a time. (Santiago also ordered two paper shredders.) Orders of $20,000 or more would have required the approval of the state Treasury. After his ouster, Santiago landed on his feet, and is presently the chief of police in Trenton, the state capitol.

Golan Cipel

In January, 2002, Gov.-elect McGreevey provided his alleged boyfriend, Golan Cipel, who had initially been sponsored by Charles Kushner, a $110,000-per-year job as state homeland security chief. McGreevey's lies regarding Cipel began even before his inauguration, in a letter he had his chief counsel, Paul Levinsohn write to the feds on Cipel's behalf. As Gannett's Sandy McClure reported on December 12, 2002, "Using the terrorism attacks of Sept. 11 to justify the hiring, the governor's chief lawyer [Paul Levinsohn] wrote a letter to the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service on McGreevey's inauguration day, telling the federal agency that New Jersey wanted Cipel to coordinate increased security with all branches of government and that Cipel had the necessary ‘substantial experience' in public security."

In fact, no foreign national could qualify for the job, because no foreigner could get the security clearance required to read sensitive federal documents or attend FBI briefings. Since the New Jersey media had already pointed this out, Levinsohn tiptoed around such issues in his official letter. And Cipel had absolutely no security background, to begin with. Meanwhile, big names in security had applied for the job, including former FBI director Louis Freeh, who had offered to do it for free. McGreevey later lied about the contents of the Levinsohn letter. The Gannett chain had to file a Freedom of Information Act request, in order to see the letter, which had mysteriously disappeared from state files, before a copy surfaced -- in Paul Levinsohn's home.

In March, 2002, McGreevey switched Cipel to a no-show job as "special counsel," also at $110,000 per annum. Reporters camped out by Cipel's office, where he never appeared. Gannett's Bob Ingle quipped, "he was an adviser to McGreevey with unspecified duties and two highly paid assistants when doing nothing became overwhelming."

When the media wouldn't stop raising questions about Cipel's "qualifications," on the advice of public relations guru Howard Rubenstein, McGreevey forced Cipel to resign on August 13, 2002. (By the way, Howard Rubenstein was then Charles Kushner's PR flack. Wouldn't you just love to see Rubenstein testify under oath about what he knows about the McGreevey Administration? AG Peter Harvey wouldn't.) And yet, before the year was over, McGreevey had arranged for jobs for Cipel at a public relations firm (MWW Group), and when Cipel wouldn't show up for work on time there, at a lobbying firm (State Street Partners). That made four well-paying jobs requiring minimal labor for a non-citizen with shaky immigration status in barely nine months. Cipel denies that he was McGreevey's lover, or that he is homosexual, not that he thinks there's anything wrong with that, and insists that he was a victim of the governor's sexual harassment. We should all be so victimized.

What was it about this alleged poet that made him so darned valuable? By the way, State Street Partners fired Cipel in May 2003, for absenteeism.

So, McGreevey says he doesn't like girls, and Cipel says he doesn't like boys. Got it?

Billboardgate

"Billboardgate": In 2003, McGreevey chief of staff Gary Taffet and chief counsel Paul Levinsohn were charged with having used their positions with McGreevey to make highway billboard ad deals during the 2001 gubernatorial campaign for their secret billboard company, and having profited to the tune of $2.2 million on the eve of the governor-elect's 2002 inauguration. Many of the deals were with large McGreevey campaign contributors, including – surprise, surprise! – Charles Kushner.

Taffet and Levinsohn were both forced to resign. McGreevey critics such as Assemblyman John Rooney (R-Emerson), suggested that chief counsel to Gov. McGreevey, Paul Josephson (who changes jobs more often than David Wells: He had been McGreevey's campaign attorney, then Levinsohn's top aide, and then Levinsohn's successor as chief counsel), was potentially implicated in both Billboardgate and the Roger Chugh case (see below). As McGreevey campaign attorney, Josephson had allegedly turned a blind eye to Chugh's allegedly illegal conduct. (I know – "allegedly, allegedly." Since none of these cases have legally been resolved, and most probably never will be, I have to say "allegedly." With apologies to Robert Towne, "Forget it, Jake, it's Jersey.")

During Josephson's momentary post-inaugural job in 2002 as liaison to public (highway, turnpike, etc.) authorities, he had reportedly intervened on behalf of Taffet and Levinsohn's business, by blocking attempts by their competitor, Lewis Katz, to get billboard contracts. The various charges and insinuations have so far rolled off Josephson's back, as he has jumped sideways from one high-level job to another, each time things have gotten hot for him. He had to resign his position as chief counsel after less than two months, but was immediately made assistant attorney general and director of the Division of Law in the Department of Law and Public Safety, on March 11, 2003. Josephson bossed 550 civil attorneys while working under acting AG Peter Harvey. Josephson left that job on January 28, to become a partner at the powerful Princeton law firm, Hill Wallack. That's six jobs in about two-and-a-half years, but it's nothing compared to Golan Cipel's four jobs in nine months. Meanwhile, in a civil suit filed on June 16, the SEC charged Gary Taffet with insider trading for actions he had allegedly undertaken before he had worked for McGreevey.

Roger Chugh

During McGreevey's 2001 campaign, Asian Indian businessmen in Middlesex County have charged, his fundraiser Rajesh "Roger" Chugh (who later worked in the secretary of state's office) engaged in illegal fundraising tactics, including "pressur[ing] them for contributions in the years leading up to the 2001 gubernatorial election, using grandiose promises of gubernatorial appointments, easy negotiation of Woodbridge [whose mayor McGreevey was, while simultaneously serving as a state senator, before being elected governor] oversight boards or threats of retribution."

Choppers

McGreevey turned state police helicopters into his personal limousine service, using them for 272 trips, including fourteen for personal business.

The Fisc

McGreevey raised taxes, spending, and state debt, and caused the state's bond rating to be downgraded.

* * *

In perhaps the unkindest cut of all, McGreevey has refused to vacate the office from which he resigned. In a ruthless bid to maintain Democrat control over the governorship, McGreevey insists that he will not leave office until November 15. Were he to leave before Election Day (November 2), a special election would be held for the people of New Jersey to choose a successor. By sabotaging voters' chance to replace him, McGreevey guarantees that the governorship will remain in Democrat hands until 2006, in the person of Senate President Richard J. Codey, who under state law, needn't give up his day job as senate president while serving as acting governor. A number of press observers believe that McGreevey is seeking to pave the way for popular, liberal Democrat Sen. Jon Corzine to run for governor in 2005.

The truth is, the McGreevey administration had long been on life support. But McGreevey should have been forced from office already in 2002 over Cipel, even if he had not been embroiled in a single other scandal. It's one thing to have a midlife crisis, or to believe in the privileges of rank, or to be a run-of-the-mill philanderer; it's another thing to misappropriate taxpayer money by putting one's mistress (mastress?) on the government payroll, and a whole nother ballgame to breach government security, just to pay off one's lover.

For some perspective, consider the less dramatic case of Wayne Hays.

Back in 1976, 64-year-old, Ohio Democrat Congressman Wayne Hays, the chairman of the powerful House Administration Committee, was known as "the meanest man in Congress." But then his private squeeze publicly sucker-punched him. Blonde, voluptuous, 26-year-old Elizabeth Ray, who was on Hays' (meaning the people's) payroll as a $14,000-per-year clerk, in spite of not being able to type, file, or even answer the telephone, came out to the Washington Post, and let the world know what kind of dictation she had really been taking from Hays. Ray then lent her name to a salacious, ghostwritten, roman à clef that appeared three months after the scandal broke, The Washington Fringe Benefit. Hays was forced to resign from the House. It never occurred to him, in those pre-Oprah times, to announce that he was a victim of certain impulses, that he was a sexually postmodern American, or to debate the meaning of the verb "to be." Those were the good, old days.

Conversely today, people who have been caught, or whose leaders have been caught in dubious friendships, often scream, "Guilt by association!" as if this were a magic incantation that would put critics on the defensive. But there is nothing wrong morally with the concept of guilt by association (which is not the same as collective guilt or collective punishment), which is legal grounds for putting a parolee back in jail (for "merely" associating with known felons), and with the exception perhaps of the Genovese crime family and the State of New Jersey, has customarily been grounds for firing someone from most jobs or refusing to hire him in the first place. This is especially true of jobs involving the public trust. But as bad as Jim McGreevey's associates are, they are all choirboys, compared to the governor.

McGreevey: "I realize the fact of this affair and my own sexuality if kept secret leaves me, and most importantly the governor's office, vulnerable to rumors, false allegations and threats of disclosure."

Jim McGreevey was never vulnerable to rumors or false allegations, but he was always vulnerable to the truth. Far from being the heroic figure, torn by identity conflicts, that the socialist mainstream press has painted, McGreevey has had a clear, consistent personality: That of a sociopath, who has no conscience or scruples, and would lie about anything, at the drop of a hat.

The upshot of this story, is that McGreevey's homosexuality or bisexuality was irrelevant to his "resignation." The media knew about his affair with Cipel all along, but covered it up, even though it was an important story (since he was committing fraud with taxpayer money, to pay his lover). So much for homophobia! Some reporters protected McGreevey out of party loyalty, while others did because they were afraid of being branded as "homophobes." Indeed, gay activists wield so much direct and indirect power over the media, that they alternately kill negative stories about homosexuals, while planting fraudulent stories "outing" as gay prominent athletes who aren't!

Had McGreevey resigned due to his sexuality, he would have done so at least two years ago. He likely quit because of the cumulative effect of so many scandals and due to the fallout from the D'Amiano "Machiavelli" affair. At present, the only person besides McGreevey who would know the precipitating factor that pushed him out would probably be U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie. I'm not sure McGreevey would even have leveled with his own attorney, Allen M. Lowy.

McGreevey could potentially be charged in the Cipel and D'Amiano matters, and subpoenaed in countless other criminal cases. But don't bet the split-level on it.

To give you a notion of the degree to which corruption is accepted and even celebrated in the Garden State, on August 27, when still-Gov. McGreevey came out of seclusion, he enjoyed the warm embrace of the Rev. Reginald Jackson, head of the Black Ministers Council of New Jersey, and his congregation at the St. Matthew A.M.E. (African Methodist Episcopalian) Church, in Orange. That day, Cong. Donald Payne (10th Dist.), a veteran Democrat hack, insisted to WCBS-TV News reporter Magee Hickey, "The citizens of New Jersey are very comfortable with Governor McGreevey remaining in office until November 15."
