The Wire: Fix the Crime Statistics...or...

The Chief

The Deputy

The chief is played by Frankie Faison, the deputy by John Doman.

When I first saw this episode a few years ago, I thought that David Simon, the show’s creator-producer-writer, must have been one of my readers. But Simon had been a longtime Baltimore crime reporter. On second thought, I concluded that the fakestat methods that I and some other reporters had exposed in so many cities were also de riguer in “Charm City.” The scene in the video is, whatever you want to call it, a "Compstat" (fakestat) meeting.
